Following the shock outcome of Thursday’s general election, the country faces a period of uncertainty as to the shape of its future government. Theresa May has today announced that the Conservative party will enter into dialogue with the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) about forming a coalition government in order to achieve a majority in the House of Commons.
Following the announcement of the snap election, several items were shelved from the forthcoming Finance Bill and we wait clarity from the next government regarding these items or, indeed, whether an emergency budget will be called in due course.
